What it is
Biotrim Syrup x50Ml contains co-trimoxazole (sulfamethoxazole with trimethoprim), a sulphonamide antibiotic combination.
What it is used for
It is used for urinary tract and chest infections and to prevent some infections in people with HIV.
How to use it
Take it as prescribed by your doctor. Shake the bottle if the label says so, and measure each dose with the spoon, cup or syringe provided rather than a kitchen spoon.
Cautions
Do not take it if you are allergic to sulfa medicines. Drink plenty of fluids and stop if you get a rash. Tell our pharmacist about any other medicines you take, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
