What it is
ALDARA 5% Imiquimod Cream x 1 SACHET contains imiquimod 5%, a cream that works by stimulating the immune response in the skin.
What it is used for
It treats external genital and perianal warts in adults. Doctors also prescribe it for actinic keratosis (rough, sun-damaged patches) and small superficial basal cell carcinomas.
How to use it
Use it exactly as prescribed; how often and for how long depends on the condition. Rub a thin layer into the affected skin at bedtime, leave it on for the time your doctor states, then wash it off with mild soap and water. Wash your hands before and after. Use each sachet once and throw away what is left.
Cautions
For use on the skin only. Keep it away from the eyes, lips and nostrils. Local redness, itching and soreness are common; stop and see your doctor if the reaction is severe. It can weaken condoms and diaphragms, so do not leave it on the skin during sex. Not for use in pregnancy unless a doctor advises. Tell our pharmacist about any other medicines you take, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
