What it is used for
Peppermint oil is taken to help relieve bloating, wind and tummy cramps, including in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
How to take it
Swallow the capsules whole with water, as directed on the label. Do not chew them. Do not take more than the recommended daily amount.
Cautions
It can cause heartburn; avoid it if you have reflux unless your pharmacist advises. See a doctor if your symptoms are new, severe or come with weight loss or blood in the stool. Food supplements should not replace a varied, balanced diet or any medicine prescribed by your doctor.
