What it is used for
Marshmallow root is rich in a soothing plant gel (mucilage) and is traditionally taken to soothe the throat and the lining of the stomach and gut.
How to take it
Take as directed on the label, usually with food and a glass of water. Do not take more than the recommended daily amount.
Cautions
It can slow the absorption of other medicines, so take them at least 1 hour apart. It may lower blood sugar; check with your doctor if you take diabetes medicine.
