Description

What it is

DREZ OINTMENT (POVIDONE/METRONIDAZOLE) 100G contains povidone-iodine, an antiseptic, with metronidazole, an antibacterial, as a ointment for use on the skin.

What it is used for

It is used on cuts, wounds, burns, ulcers and sores to clean them and help prevent and treat infection, including infections that cause a bad smell.

How to use it

Clean and dry the wound, then apply a thin layer of ointment, usually once or twice a day, and cover with a clean dressing if needed. Use it as directed on the pack or by your doctor or nurse.

Cautions

For external use only: do not swallow it, and keep it away from the eyes. Do not use if you are allergic to iodine. Do not use on large areas or for long periods, especially in babies, in pregnancy or while breastfeeding, or if you have a thyroid or kidney problem, unless a doctor advises. It can stain skin and clothes. See a doctor if the wound is deep, very painful, spreading red, or not healing.
