Description
What it is
Ivytimol contains timolol 0.5%, a beta blocker eye drop. It lowers the pressure inside the eye by reducing the amount of fluid the eye makes.
What it is used for
Doctors prescribe timolol for open-angle glaucoma and raised eye pressure (ocular hypertension), to help protect the optic nerve and your sight.
How to use it
Use exactly as prescribed, usually one drop in the affected eye once or twice daily. Pressing gently on the inner corner of the eye for a minute after the drop reduces how much reaches the rest of the body.
Cautions
Tell your doctor if you have asthma or other lung disease, a slow heart rate or heart problems, or diabetes, as timolol can affect these. Keep using it even if your eyes feel fine; glaucoma usually has no symptoms.
