What it is
ZUVENTUS ATOSIBAN ACETATE 75MG/ML contains atosiban, an oxytocin receptor blocker.
What it is used for
It is used in hospital to delay premature labour between 24 and 33 weeks of pregnancy, giving time for steroid injections or transfer to a specialist unit.
How to use it
It is given as an injection followed by a drip, under specialist care. Store it as stated on the pack.
Cautions
Nausea, headache, dizziness and hot flushes can occur. It is not used if the waters broke early after 30 weeks, if there is bleeding or infection, or if continuing the pregnancy would be unsafe for mother or baby.
