What is Nucard 160mg?

Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks the effect of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels, so the vessels relax and blood pressure falls.

How to take Nucard 160mg

Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water. Keep taking it even if you feel well, unless your doctor tells you to stop.

Safety information

• Do not take if you are allergic to valsartan, are pregnant, or have severe liver disease. Do not take with aliskiren if you have diabetes or kidney problems.
• Common side effects include dizziness, low blood pressure, high potassium and changes in kidney function.
• Get emergency help for swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing.
• Tell your doctor if you take potassium supplements, potassium-sparing diuretics, NSAID painkillers (for example ibuprofen or diclofenac), lithium, or other blood pressure medicines.
