What it is
SAMARTH OCTREOTIDE INJECTION 100 mcg contains octreotide, a somatostatin analogue.
What it is used for
It is used to treat acromegaly and to control symptoms such as severe diarrhoea and flushing caused by certain hormone-producing tumours. It is also used in hospital for some other conditions.
How to use it
This injection is given by a doctor, nurse or trained health worker, or by you after proper training, exactly as prescribed. Store it as stated on the pack.
Cautions
Stomach upset is common, and long-term use can cause gallstones. It can change blood sugar levels, so people with diabetes may need their medicines adjusted. Tell our pharmacist about any other medicines you take, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
