What is Traphaco Colchicin 1mg?

Colchicine is an anti-inflammatory medicine used in gout. It reduces the inflammation caused by uric acid crystals in the joints. It does not lower uric acid levels.

• Helping to prevent gout flares, especially when starting uric acid lowering treatment

How to take Traphaco Colchicin 1mg

Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Colchicine has a narrow safety margin, so never take more than your prescribed dose, and do not repeat a course sooner than your doctor advises.

Safety information

• Do not take if you are allergic to colchicine, or have severe kidney or liver disease, or a blood disorder, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
• Common side effects include diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting and stomach pain. Stop and contact your doctor if diarrhoea or vomiting is severe.
• Seek medical help for muscle pain or weakness, numbness or tingling, unusual bleeding or bruising, or signs of infection.
• Colchicine interacts with clarithromycin, erythromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, ciclosporin, verapamil, diltiazem and some statins. Avoid grapefruit juice.
• Speak to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
